THE TUBE:
LOST
The others show up. Kate fucks up. And Jack finally realizes what should be done. Good thing he's got Japanese mob enforcer, a Nigerian drug runner, a southern con artist, a convicted murder, a L A cop and a former member of the Iraqi Republican Guard in his camp. When you look at that type of cast how can he lose. I seriously wanted to smack the crap out of Kate and the ex-wife. I'm not sure who pissed me off more. By the way, what was up with Locke and all of his querstions again. The questions feel like head games. Like he's worming his way into their minds, but for what? As I thought last week, Charlie's virgins were significant. You could tell from the music.

THE ANCHOR DESK:
MLK DAY AND KNOWING WHEN TO SHUT UP
Ok by now eveyone has heard the newsbytes from the unfortunate speeches made by NY Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. sigh.....My question is to them is how can two obviously intelligent people with several staff members under them say such completely stupid things in a speech. I can understand being caught by a reporter on the street or at an event or fielding questions at a press conference and saying something ambiguous that could be interperted differently, but a speech... regarding or referencing race... ON MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY!!! Are ya CRAZY! Senator Clinton's comments comparing the U.S. House of Representatives to "a plantation" at mostly Black audience in Harlem on Monday was bad enough, but the follow up portion "and you know what I mean." made it ten times worse. No Senator, we don't know what you mean. How could anyone know what you mean? Your statement, or at least the portion of it that you of ALL people should know would be turned into the sound byte of the week , was completely ambiguous to anyone not in the U s Congress. Sure I watch the news. Yes, I see that the Republican majority is able to throw their weight around both houses. And yes, the Democrats have to scream, fight, and cry in order to get anything accomplished. Actually, the more I think about it, the more heated battles always seem to come from the Senate. hmmm... Taking all of that into account, I STILL didn't get the reference. It seems the statement, according to CNN and a spokesman for Clinton, was pointing out that the GOP House leadership has stifled substantive debate. Ok that's fine. I understand. I understand that it may be in reference to something that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said in 1994 after the Republicans took the majority in the House of Representatives where he claimes the Democrats thought in was "their job to run the plantation". He went further to say he was "actually willing to lead the slave revolution." Oh Newt.... Look, I think Senator Clinton is an amazing person and an incredible Senator. Should she take her seat back in November and decide to run for President, I would highly consider voting for her. But public comments like this cling to you like skunk stink. If you want to continue or go further in in public service, think before you speak. Be clear and be consice and then if you still have any doubts consult someone who's been in public life for advice, like the your husband you occasionally live with. Now on to New orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and his dreams of a chocolate city and thoughts of a vengful god sending hurricans to punish the US. Mayor Nagin, when Pat Robertson says that hurricans hit your fair city to punish the Emmy's for having out lesbian Ellen Degeneress host last year's show, we disgard it as the ravings of an obvious media whore. When YOU say hurricans are a sign that God was angry at the United States and it's black communities, you lose credibility as a local leader with national focus. The eyes of the whole country have been on you since Hurricane Katrina hit. The sympathies concern of an entire nation were with you since that day. Then, with one ambiguous comment, you throw that away or at best, raise some doubts. I know the Mayor is trying to get the displaced citizens of the city to come back and start over, especially since much of the 9th Ward may beyong saving and the city will not beable to rebuild that area, but this sort of grandstanding will not help your cause. Comments referring to any element of the race issue as "chocolate" plays badly in many places of this country. Rural areas that are not "rednecks" and are actually sensitive to the issue of race. it confuses them. It confused me. I think of the Mayor of my city making a comment like this. He would have been crucifed, because he's white. Now that gets off the issue a bit but it adds to the thought that race is still a hot issue. It doesn't matter the color of your skin because if a camera is on you, you are speaking to ALL colors. Also, since you are a man of national attention, your sound bytes, good or bad, will be heard EVERYWHERE. It'll be interpretted many ways. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!!!!

THE X-RAY EXAMINATION:
THE WEEKEND
I previously posted that I finally got some balls and got a tattoo. No, no I do not have pics to post yet, but that was just one piece of the weekend. Friday night was my office's Holiday Party. It was actually rescheduled from December due to a crazy winter storm. It was a nice time. The food was good and the drink flowed freely. It was nice to chat outside of the office with people. The gossip was flowing quite nicely. Just like any other proper queen, I LOLOLOLOVE! a good dish. I got a few. I gave a few as well. I will have a few pics from the event soon. Afterwards I got ready for Battlestar Galactica and drifted to sleep. On Saturday, I grabeed a load of old books and chatted with a guy I'm interrested in. We'll see what happens. After that, I got the tattoo. I just went in to ask a few questions and before you knew it i was signing a form. I stayed in that night due to the fact that the Boston scene is tired to me. Daniel Nardico's show twisted me out. It is almost TOO funny at times. Sunday, I spent time with my erstwhile Roommate who effectively lives at his boyfriend's place. I hope he takes control of that situation. I don't see much health in that relationship, but one never knows. Later that night, I watched West Wing and Desperate Housewives. I'll chat about that stuff in THE TUBE .

THE X-RAY EXAMINATION:
In a few short days, I will hit the next big milestone to my life.....35. I marked the occasion by doing something I've always wanted to do but have been too afraid to.
I got a tattoo.
Keep in mind, I dated a tattoo artist 5 years ago and never got one. I have an irrational fear of needles. I always have a very, Very, VERY low tolerance for pain. I did pretty good and it turned out real nice. So now I'm babying it following the instructions to a tee. The tattoo is my traditional 8-point half-star in black and red. A picture will soon follow at some point as soon as I figure out how to take pics and post them and all of that stuff.

THE TRADE: BREAKING NEWS
I think this does make it official since Marvel EIC, Joe Quesada just released this image on www.newsarama.com, Sipdey had anew set of duds and they are SHINEY. I have to admit I like it. It gives him a sleekness that he's lacked since he first donned the much-loved black black costume, introduced 20 years ago. Of course, I would be surprised to see it last too long past the epic Civil War plotline that the Marvel books are heading to but it'll be fun to see how it plays out. The plot-driven costume change spirals out of the 12-part "The Other" story currently running through the Spider-Man titles; Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Knights Spider-Man and The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The costume itself is the brainchild of fellow New Avenger and Peter's current B.F.F., Tony Stark a/k/a Iron Man. The colors should be a dead givaway there. Since Quesada has confirmed that the New Avengers will be split down the middle between Captain America and Iron Man by the events that lead up to Civil War it's fair to believe which side the newly golden wall-crawler will be on. But with every major choice Peter Parker has ever made it will be sorely conflicted. Especially since the major event that leads to this split is the decision to or not to enforce the Superhero Registeration Act that will come into play in the next few months
within the Marvel Books. Quesada has stated that Civil War will be a status changing event for teams, as well as the solo heroes. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it unfolds, but for right now we can sit back in awe of the pretty new design and wonder....
Does Aunt May have enough polish to keep that thing from tarnishing?

THE X-RAY EXAMINATION:
Ok I'm still getting the hang of posting to this site. The first post regarding Lost in "THE TUBE" was an experiment. I haven't found the right look just yet but i do have a format concept in mind. Hopefully, I'll devote some time to make this a fun thing to do for myself. Time will tell though. Not that anyone reads it yet but IF someone does.... help. I need a good look for this thing and something that represents myself as well. of course since I am technologically retarded, I'll need lots of help.
thanks.

ThE TuBe:
LOST.
BEWARE SPOILERS MAY LURK BELOW!
Ok last night episode was pretty good. I unfortunately was wiped so somewhere in the middle I lost a little consciousness, but missed little. I saw the black fog and Echo, but some reason that wasn't the part that twisted me. The last scene with and all of the virgins (tee hee couldn't resist). Ok yeah he's a drug addict and they are a Bunch of Mary's full of heroin... reminds me of an ex I had.... but why the hell was he storing them and it what? It seemed weird to me. Now thanks to my favorite morning ritual watching Robin and Company on Headline News I discovered that the Black Fog had flashes of light in it and those flashes of light were images from Echo's past.
hhhhmmmmmm.....
More with the themes of faith and redemption. It's a nice line they are stradling with this show
